A Busy Week

Photobucket

Our Thanksgiving was really great! I always love this time of year when we get to think about all of our blessings. It's great! I also love seeing all of our family! And then we jump right into Christmas! Christmas is so amazing, it just has such a great spirit. It was also my first time going to the Black Friday Sales and it was so much fun! I went with my cousins, Paige and Kassidi, Kassidi's friend, Ashley, and Aunt Jeri! Afterwards, we went to Souper Salad. It was a great day- got all my Christmas shopping done!

Then on Sunday my cousin, Bronson, who's going on a mission, had his farewell. It was really great and spiritual. We are so happy for him! He left for the MTC earlier this week. Now to top it all off, we're going Christmas Tree Cutting tomorrow! It's going to be so much fun!

The Field Is White ...

Bronson, Jeri's son, has made the choice to go on a mission! On Saturday he was called to serve in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. We are so proud of him! I know that that is where Heavenly Father wants him to go and that's where he can make the biggest difference and bring the world His truth. Good luck Bronson! We love you!

General Conference!

This year, we were lucky enough to go to General Conference and spend lots of time with family in Utah. General Conference was amazing and it was definitely a trip worth taking! (Sorry we didn't bring our camera so I stole these pics from my cousins! :p)

A photographer from Deseret News came and took this picture of Sierra! Isn't she beautiful?! You can check out the gallery from conference by clicking here. I'm warning you, it's a lot of pictures! Her's is number 68 if your interested! Keep an eye out for the conference edition of the Ensign because this picture might be in there! ;)

Skousen Family Reunion

Sorry we haven't posted in a while. We've been crazy busy lately, with school starting and all. I thought I would post of some pics from our Skousen Family Reunion in July. It was so much fun, as you can tell! There is no greater gift than family!

Update on Life

This post is to get you updated on our family. We'll start with our new dog, Diesel. He is such a great dog! He is so loveable and sweet! We are so lucky to have him. When we first got him it was hard for him to transition from being an outside dog to an inside dog (by this I mean he had a few accidents), but he's doing fine now. Cupid and Diesel aren't the best of friends yet, but they get along okay. He is the perfect dog for our family. :D

Other than that, it's been a lazy, but nice, summer. Dad's going on a trip for work with Uncle Curt this weekend to the Midwest. We've been babysitting Cash 3 days a week and Jess and Tyler are in the process are looking for a house. Sierra has been taking college classes this summer. Jonah is at EFY this week with Trent and Hunter and it's his first time! I'll try to post pictures when he gets back on Saturday. I think that's about it for now. Until then, Happy Summer!

What Time is It?

SUMMERTIME!!!!

Yup. It's finally here! We finally got out of school yesterday and our first day of summer was today! I know, I know. Most schools got out like 2 weeks ago and I'm so happy we're finally out! Now we get to look forward to 3 months of "hakuna matata". Jonah's so lucky because for 8th grade graduation (yeah, he's going to high school next year) they are going to DISNEY LAND! He's going to be gone until Saturday and I'm so jealous of him! Oh well, maybe some day ...

They're Here!!!

I finally got to posting the pics from Rocky Point! It was a blast and we can't wait to go back!

I don't know if you can see, but Slade took a wipeout on the tile stairs and knocked his front teeth loose. His gums were all bloody the rest of the trip. Poor guy. :(

You can't go to Rocky Point without getting your hair braided! It's a tradition that my cousin, Paige, and I do every year we go!

The grandkids that went on the trip (minus 1).

Our Family

Oh so peaceful.

Lots of fun and games.

Oops. I accidentally uploaded two of the same pic and I can't figure out how to erase one of them. You'll just have to deal with it! :)

More paletas!

The Skousens are tooooooo cool.

Spring Break. Smile.

Grandma and Grandpa.

Slade can fly!!! (I edited this photo with Picnik [the best photo editing site on the planet].)

A New Addition

We have an important announcement to make. We have a new addition to the family named Diesel. In just the few days that we've had him, we figured out he's a mellow, sweet dog. He's like a giant Teddy Bear! We're hoping Cupid will make a friend out of him, but right now Cupid is still a little uncomfortable with him. Here he is:

Isn't he a cutie?

Our cousins actually have his brother, Harley. You can definetly see the resemblance! Here's a picture of Harley.

Don't they look the same? We are so happy to have him!

(BTW: Rocky Point Pics are coming soon!)

So Much Anticipation!

As I have mentioned in the Beach House post, this year we are going to Rocky Point (aka: Heaven on Earth). It is SOOOO much fun every year and we are finally going on Friday! 2 days! It may not seem like a very long time, but it is! A day seems like forever nowadays and it's just getting longer! This anticipation is pure agony!

Our Beach House

Every other year during spring break, the Skousens go on a big vacation to Rocky Point, Mexico. We usually rent a beach house and stay there for a few days. Some of the activities we've done in the past include getting our hair done in cornrows, swimming, going on a banana boat, and celebrated holidays like St. Patrick's Day and Easter. It's always so much fun! This year will be our third year going, and we are all SO excited!

A couple of weeks ago, my dad got the opportunity to go with my Grandma and Grandpa Skousen down to Rocky Point to rent out the beach house that we'll be staying in! It was his birthday, and it was nice for him to get off work and go to Mexico. Here are a few pictures of the beach house they got. My grandpa took the pictures, and he didn't take one of the house from the front, so I'm just going to show you some pictures of parts of it.

This is the main room. This picture was taken on the stairs.

Another picture of the main room. Notice the statue in the corner. We're gonna half to get a sheet and give it a toga or something. :-)

The court yard.

The gorgeous view.

Nice shot of my dad, huh?! :-)

It's Official ... I LOVE Picnik!

So, about 2 months ago, my cousin, Kassidi, introduced me to picnik.com. It's just about the BEST photo-editing program EVER!!! Picnik is pretty much everything I do in my spare time and I highly suggest it. Here are a few of the experiments I've done.
